During the Quota movement, two police officers were detained in the Rayerbagh area of Jatrabari by BNP, Chhatra Dal, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, and activists along with unidentified individuals. After confirming their identity as police officers, Nayek Gias Uddin and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohammad Moktadir were brutally beaten to death. Later, their bodies were hung from the foot-over bridge.
