
The Awami League Leaders and Activists Killings

Six Awami League leaders and activists were beaten to death by protesters in Madhabdi Municipal area of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. The deceased include Md. Delwar Hossain (President of Madhabdi Fishermens League), Delwar Hossain (Former General Secretary of Madhabdi Upazila Chhatra League), Moniruzzaman Bhuiyan alias Nati Monir (Former member of Narsingdi District Council and Labor League leader), Anisur Rahman Sohel (Labor League leader), Nowser (Commissioner of Ward 11 of Madhabdi Municipality), and an unknown person.

Ismail, a Jubo League leader from Tongi, Gazipur City, was killed in a mob beating.

Julkar Nain, Organizational Secretary of the Bangabandhu Sainik League in Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila, was killed in an attack by Jamaat-Shibir activists.

Musa, a Jubo League leader of Panchasar Union, Munshiganj, was hacked to death by BNP activists at Mukterpur Ferry Ghat

Awami League leader Abdus Samad was killed by protesters in Nawabganj, Dhaka.

Zainal Abedin, son of the President of Araihazar Municipality Awami League in Narayanganj, Meher Ali Molla, was beaten to death by assailants.

Abu Sayeed Al-Mamun Tipu, an Awami League leader from Manikganj, died under mysterious circumstances.

Shayla Sikder, a member of Eden College Chhatra League and Vice President of Kalapara Upazila Chhatra League, Patuakhali, was strangled to death by BNP-Jamaat activists.

M. A. Momin Patowary, a member of Ramganj Upazila Awami League in Lakshmipur, was killed by protesters while paying homage to Bangabandhus portrait at Dhanmondi 32.

Rizan Molla, a Chhatra League leader of Narsingdi, was hacked to death by BNP activists at midnight.

Former Organizing Secretary of Jahangirnagar University Chhatra League, Mr. Shamim Ahmed, alias Shamim Mollah was killed by BNP Jamaat activists in the campus.
Students of Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall at Dhaka University have beaten to death a man named Tofazzal (30) on suspicion of theft. Before the killing, the students had given him rice to eat at the hall’s canteen. Tofazzal was from Kathaltali Union of Patharghata Upazila in Barguna. He had been suffering from mental health issues. He was also a former Chhatro League activist.

In a clash during protests in Lakshmipur Sadar, former Jubo League leader Abdullah Al Noman BCL leader Rakib Imam, and a total of eight Jubo League leaders were killed.

Sifat, a BCL leader from Lakshmipurdistrict, was killed in a terrorist attack in Lakshmipur Sadar.

Swapan, a member of the Jubo League from Sundarpur village, Baligaon Union, Feni district, was abducted and killed by Jubo Dal terrorists in front of Al Hera Mosque.

In Chittagong city, Shibirs armed cadres publicly opened fire, killing Hathazari Upazila Awami League leader Md. Anis and Jubo League activist Masud Kaiser.

Miscreants attacked the Awami League office in Raiganj Upazila, Sirajganj, during a party meeting, killing six leaders and injuring 40-50 others. The deceased are Jahangir Alam, former General Secretary of the Raiganj Upazila Chhatra League, Ilyas Hossain, President of the Upazila Volunteer League, Al Amin, General Secretary of the Upazila Volunteer League, Golam Sarwar Ripon, Chairman of the Brahmagacha Union Parishad, Golam Hasnat Titu, General Secretary of the same unions Awami League; and Pradip Kumar Bhowmik, Upazila correspondent of the daily Khaborpotro newspaper

Anti-discrimination student protesters attacked the Awami League office in Joypurhat and killed Rafiquzzaman, former Vice President of the district Jubo League, and set fire to the office.

Al Amin, Joint Secretary of the proposed convening committee of Dhunat Municipality Jubo League, was beaten to death by miscreants after stopping his motorcycle on the road in Goshaibari, Dhunat, Bogura.

Anti-discrimination student protesters attacked the Awami League office in Joypurhat and killed Rafiquzzaman, former Vice President of the district Jubo League, and set fire to the office.

Motiur Rahman, President of Awami League in Dogachi Union, Joypurhat, was severely injured by protesting students. He later died on 20 August while receiving treatment.

In Assasuni Upazila, Satkhira, an enraged mob hacked to death Sheikh Zakir Hossain, Vice President of the Ashashuni Upazila Awami League and former Chairman of the Pratapnagar Union.

Shahidul Islam Hiron, General Secretary of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Awami League and Chairman of Porahati Union Parishad, along with his driver, Akhtar Hossain, were brutally beaten to death by an enraged mob. After the killing, the crowd hung Hiron’s body at the Payra Chattar in the town.

In the Cinema Hall Para area of Chuadanga Sadar, miscreants burned four people to death, including Arefin Alam Ranju, the former convener of the District Jubo League (youth wing of the Bangladesh Awami League).

In the village of Boikary in Satkhira Sadar, BNP activists brutally beat up Awami League activists Asafur Rahman, Touhid Islam, and Saiful Islam to death.

In Koyra Upazila under Khulna, an agitated mob violently beat up GM Mohsin Reza, President of Koyra Upazila Awami League and Upazila Chairman, to death before burning his body

Tutul Chowdhury, former president of Ward 12 Awami League in Barishal Metropolitan, was killed in a clash with the anti-discrimination student movement force.

Gazi Naimul Hossain, former panel mayor, councilor of Ward 19, and joint general secretary of Metropolitan Awami League, was burned to death in a fire set at the house of former Barishal mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah.

Chhatra League activist Rashed Sikdar was beaten to death by the BNP’s student wing Chhatra Dal leader Al Amin Talukdar from Barthi Union and his associates for failing to pay the extortion money they had demanded.

Manjur Ahmed, General Secretaryb of Ward 7 Swechasebak League (Awami League's voluntary wing) of Sylhet City Corporation, was killed by miscreants who brutally severed his hands and legs.
